The portal opens to a mobile-friendly web page with check-in info, the property guidebook, available upsells, and their booking details.

Upsells pay via Stripe
When a guest purchases an upsell, Stripe processes the payment and the purchase shows up in your HostMoat dashboard. You keep 100% — no commission.

Early check-in and late checkout upsells
Early check-in and late checkout are built-in upsell types with special logic — HostMoat checks your calendar for booking conflicts before confirming a request. If the dates are clear, the upsell auto-confirms. If there's a back-to-back booking, HostMoat flags it for your review. You set the price per property.

Custom upsells for anything
Beyond the built-in types, you can add any upsell you want — airport transfers, grocery pre-stocking, welcome baskets, mid-stay cleaning. Add a photo, description, price, and optionally an inventory limit. Guests see the menu on their portal and can purchase any item directly.

How do guests get to the portal?
A unique link is included in the booking confirmation email and again in the pre-arrival reminder 3 days before check-in.
Can I edit the guidebook content per property?
Yes. Each property has its own guidebook with separate fields for WiFi, door code, house rules, check-in instructions, and local recommendations.
What's the commission on upsell purchases?
Zero. You keep 100% of upsell revenue and pay only Stripe's standard processing fees (2.9% + 30¢).
Can I hide guidebook sections from the portal?
Yes. Each property's portal settings include five toggles — bedrooms, check-in/checkout, contact info, house rules, and custom sections — that let you hide those blocks individually. Guests still see the full guidebook via the link at the bottom of the portal.
